Where is your photography studio located?
My portrait studio is located in West Fargo, North Dakota, and I regularly photograph clients from Fargo, Moorhead, West Fargo, and communities throughout North Dakota and Minnesota. The studio is designed for a comfortable, private portrait experience with professional lighting, multiple backgrounds, sets, and wardrobe options.
What is a contemporary portrait session?
Think of it as your own magazine-inspired photoshoot. Contemporary portrait photography combines beautiful lighting, professional styling, flattering posing, and a polished editorial feel to create portraits that are timeless rather than trendy. Sessions can be glamorous and sophisticated or simple and understated depending on how you want to be photographed.
Do I need to know how to pose?
Not at all. Most of the people I photograph are not models and don’t have experience in front of a professional camera. I’ll guide you through posing, body position, hands, facial expressions, and all the little details throughout your portrait session. You never have to wonder what to do.
What should I wear for my portrait session?
We’ll talk about wardrobe before your photoshoot so we can create a look that photographs beautifully and still feels like you. Depending on the style of your session, that might mean a favorite dress, a classic white shirt, jeans and a blazer, something glamorous, or pieces from my studio wardrobe. My inclusive client closet offers sizes XS–6X with a variety of clothing and accessories available.
Do you offer professional hair and makeup?
Yes. Professional hair, makeup, and lashes can be part of the portrait experience, giving you a polished, camera-ready look while still looking like yourself. Your session can be styled naturally or with a little more glamour depending on the portraits you want to create.
Can I bring someone with me for my portrait session?
Absolutely. Portrait sessions don’t have to be only about you. You can include your partner, spouse, children, parents, or other loved ones and create a combination of individual and group portraits. This is especially beautiful for mother and daughter portraits, couples photography, family portraits, and generations sessions.
Do you photograph women of all ages and sizes?
Yes. I photograph everyday women of different ages, sizes, shapes, and styles. You don’t need to lose weight, change anything about yourself, or know how to pose before scheduling a professional portrait session. My job is to use lighting, posing, wardrobe, and styling to photograph you beautifully exactly where you are today.
Can I book portraits just because I want beautiful photos of myself?
Yes, and you don’t need a special occasion. Some clients book a portrait photoshoot for a birthday or milestone, while others simply realize they haven’t had a photograph of themselves that they truly love in years. A professional portrait session can be whatever you want it to be.
Do you offer headshots and personal branding photography?
Yes. I offer both professional headshot photography and personal branding sessions in Fargo-West Fargo. Headshot sessions are ideal when you need an updated professional image, while personal branding sessions create a larger collection of photographs for your website, social media, marketing, speaking engagements, and other business needs.
Do you photograph couples?
Yes. Couples sessions are perfect for engagement photos, anniversaries, date nights, milestone celebrations, or simply documenting the two of you together. My Editorial Couples session has a sophisticated, editorial approach with plenty of direction so your portraits feel intimate, polished, and natural rather than stiff or overly posed.
Do you offer maternity photography?
Yes. Maternity portrait sessions celebrate this season with beautifully styled, timeless photographs. Sessions can include individual maternity portraits as well as images with your partner or family and can range from simple and classic to glamorous and editorial. Maternity wardrobe is available from my client closet.
Do you offer boudoir photography?
Yes. Boudoir is one of the portrait experiences available at my West Fargo photography studio. Sessions are private, fully guided, and created for everyday women who want photographs that feel confident, beautiful, sensual, and personal. Wardrobe is available from my client closet (XS-6X).
Do you offer family portraits?
Yes. I photograph families and multiple generations, with an emphasis on polished, timeless portraits designed to be enjoyed for years. Family portrait sessions can include the entire family along with smaller groupings, couples, parents and children, siblings, and individual portraits.
